East Side Radio (ESR) is an independent radio station based in Lisbon’s east side, born out of a DIY spirit in 2018. What began with broadcasts from the backroom of a Mexican market evolved into a dedicated studio, now running 12 hours of live radio daily. The station acts as a cultural hub—rooted in community and experimentation—bringing together local creatives, food, and music in an ever-evolving space. Its visual identity draws inspiration from the analog interfaces of radio and DJ equipment—buttons, knobs, and faders—translated into a bold, modular graphic system. Combined with a strong typographic approach, the identity captures the tactile energy of music-making while remaining flexible across digital and physical platforms.
